Winter 2025  Warriors Learn to Play Hockey @ Sardis Sports Complex

Warriors Learn to Play Hockey/Ringette is an instructional level tot hockey and or ringette program designed to give kids aged 4-8 yrs the necessary skills needed to eventually play in a competitive and fun environment.  Our professional coaches will teach the basic FUNdamentals from beginner to intermediate skating for hockey/ringette, stickhandling, team play and good sportsmanship.

The program is best suited to players that are comfortable on the ice without parents, and for those that have passed Warriors Learn to Skate Silver.  This is not a learn to skate program.  If the athlete is not comfortable and unable to participate in the skating skills sessions unassisted athletes will be asked to join or re-join Warriors Academy of Skating. 

Young skaters could be arranged by ability into smaller groups and learn through fun games, obstacle courses, relays and small area games to build the foundational skills required to play hockey or ringette.

Full and proper hockey gear including a CSA approved hockey/ringette helmet with face mask, BNQ neck guard, shoulder, elbow and shin pads, with skates, stick, gloves, jock/jill shorts, pants, socks and jersey are required.

Learn to Play (born 2017-2020) For beginners and all children new to hockey.

• Must be able to get up and down on their own, and move freely on the ice

• must be comfortable on the ice without a parent

• Must be able to “run” or stride/skate and glide freely around the ice

• Must have passed Tot or Youth Learn to Skate Silver

• Jan 21, 23, 28, 30, Feb 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27, Mar 4, 6, 11, 13

• @ 10:15 to 11:00am (45 mins)

Ages: 

• 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 (exceptions can be made upon request)

Prerequisite:

• All players looking to register for this program must have passed our Academy of Skating Tot Silver or equivalent from another skating program before registering into this program.
