Winter 2025  Intro to Power Skating @ Sardis Sports Complex

Hockey or Ringette Players aged 6 to 12 yrs

U7, U9, U11, U13

Intro to Power Skating is designed for players who can skate forward, have some backward ability, are able to stop on one side and are ready to learn proper power skating techniques.  Athletes who register are required to have passed Warriors Learn to Skate Gold, or Warriors Fundamentals of Hockey and/or are currently in minor hockey or ringette.  This is not a learn to skate program.  If the athlete is not comfortable and unable to participate in the skating skills sessions athletes will be asked to join or re-join Warriors Academy of Skating or Hockey.

Warrior coaches will work on the foundation for technically correct skating, and will focus on balance, weight transfer, forward skating, backwards skating, stopping and turning.  Intro to Power Skating requires all athletes to have full hockey or ringette equipment and are required to have a stick every session.  

Prerequisite: 

• Passed Warriors Hockey Fundamentals,

• Passed Warriors Tot or Youth Academy of skating level GOLD

• Are currently enrolled in minor hockey or ringette
